📝 WHAT IS YOUR NAME AND WHAT DO YOU DO AT ARVID NORDQUIST?

My name is Rebecca, and I work as a Nordic Product Manager within Non-Food. In our part of Arvid Nordquist’s portfolio, we handle products related to household, cleaning, and hygiene. I work with brands such as Duck, Glade, Raid, Autan, and Mr. Muscle, which are owned by our American business partner, SC Johnson. My role involves managing the assortment and marketing in Sweden, while collaborating with our local product managers in Norway, Denmark, and Finland.

📝 WHAT QUALITIES ARE IMPORTANT IN YOUR PROFESSION?

Knowledge of economics and marketing, of course. In terms of personal qualities, I would say that curiosity is essential to learn about products and the category. Additionally, you need to be socially oriented, as my role involves constant dialogue with various internal departments and many external partners. Since I work with global brands, it’s important to understand different cultures, both personally and professionally.

📝 WHAT ARE YOU MOST PASSIONATE ABOUT IN YOUR ROLE?

Seeing the products, materials, and concepts I work with appear in everyday life outside the office! Since these products are sold in grocery stores and similar channels, the job becomes very tangible — I also stand in front of the store shelf as a consumer, choosing products. Specifically, I enjoy working with GAP analyses and strategically growing and making the business more profitable. Then there’s the adaptation aspect — helping international brands adjust their marketing and sales for our Nordic markets. It can be tricky, but I love the challenge!

📝 WHAT IS THE BEST PART OF BEING A NORDIC PRODUCT MANAGER AT ARVID NORDQUIST?

I’ve been working at Arvid Nordquist for 10 years, with various brands and categories. Here, you work closely with different functions within the company. Even though we’ve grown a lot since I started, that aspect remains. Close contact fosters a better understanding of other departments like finance, logistics, sales, etc. Everyone has to work together for the business to succeed. I think Arvid Nordquist, as a family-owned company, has a culture that suits me well, and the experience and knowledge within the company provide great support for my role, where things move fast, and quick decisions are often needed. Plus, I really enjoy working internationally and getting to know business cultures and people from different countries.
