📝 WHAT IS YOUR NAME AND WHAT DO YOU DO AT ARVID NORDQUIST?

My name is Emilie, and I work in customer service at Arvid Nordquist. I have a varied workday with a broad range of tasks, but a lot of it revolves around product flow, such as outgoing orders. We need to be efficient and detail-oriented to ensure that customers receive their goods on time, at the right place, in good condition, and at the right price. It may sound simple, but we are at the center of a complex web of different types of customers, companies, industries, and countries, which brings plenty of challenges — and that’s what makes the role dynamic and fun!

📝 WHAT QUALITIES ARE IMPORTANT IN YOUR ROLE?

In my role, you need to be solution-oriented, able to assess situations that arise, anticipate potential problems, and weigh different solutions against each other. A thirst for knowledge is another important quality, as you need to understand all the agreements, regulations, and product information related to the product flow. Besides that, you need to be empathetic and attentive since communication with many people is a key part of the job.

📝 WHAT ARE YOU MOST PASSIONATE ABOUT IN YOUR WORKDAY?

I enjoy solving problems. When I find a solution to a situation that makes things easier for both us and our customers, that’s the reward in my role. Negotiations are also exciting, not just the outcome but the process itself and the interaction with people.

📝 WHAT IS THE BEST PART OF WORKING IN CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ARVID NORDQUIST?

There are many things! Here, I am trusted to handle contacts across the entire value chain. This naturally leads to interacting with a wide variety of personalities, cultures, and professional roles, which is stimulating. I appreciate working in a family-owned company with experience and tradition. There is a lot of know-how “in the walls,” and combined with a personal touch, it creates a familial atmosphere. I also have highly competent colleagues who take pride in their work, which of course contributes to teamwork and the sense of shared success.

Another fun fact that many people don’t know is that Arvid Nordquist is one of the larger distributors in the Nordics, covering groceries, wine & beer, as well as household products. In addition to our own coffee brand, we sell products from brands like Kellogg’s, Bollinger Champagne, Pringles, Peroni, Sun-Maid, A+, Duracell, and Häagen-Dazs, just to name a few of the 140 brands we work with! This, in itself, brings a lot of variety to my workday.
