Arvid Nordquist was founded in 1884 and is a family-owned company in its third generation. The first store offering high-quality food products was opened on Nybrogatan in Stockholm, where personal service was the guiding principle. In 1910, Arvid Nordquist became a purveyor to the Royal Court. In 1941, Bengt Nordquist took over as CEO, and in 1955, the company expanded to include wine and beer under the name Nordman & Co.

Today, the company has 324 employees and its headquarters are located in Solna, Stockholm. Arvid Nordquist takes a long-term approach to all business and is known for its strong corporate culture and commitment to quality and sustainability.

  • Arvid Nordquist opened a shop under his own name on September 12, 1884, on Nybrogatan ​ in central Stockholm

  • Arvid Nordquist was appointed Royal court supplier

  • Bengt Nordquist took over as CEO

  • Arvid Nordquist developed the business of selling and distributing wine & beer under the company name Nordman & Co​

  • Arvid Nordquist's coffee roastery was completed in Solna outside Stockholm

  • Arvid Nordquist closed the shop in Östermalm​

  • Anders Nordquist took over as CEO​

  • Arvid Nordquist established operations in Norway and Denmark

  • Arvid Nordquist's restaurant wholesale business was sold to ICA Meny (today Menigo)

  • Arvid Nordquist acquired the Alex F. Lindberg agency business in Finland. The business changed its name to Arvid Nordquist

  • Arvid Nordquist started the Non Food business area​
