Transparent supply chain

Arvid Nordquist’s Code of Conduct, which is based on Amfori BSCI principles, is an integral part of our supplier control process. The Code covers our own operations, our business partners and their subcontractors. The aim is to ensure that the products we sell have been produced with respect for human rights and through processes that minimise the risk of negative consequences. We work systematically to map risks throughout our portfolio and follow up on suppliers with production in or raw materials from risk countries. Through digital due diligence tools, we can systematically map risk levels and prioritise actions where the need is greatest and where they can make the greatest difference.

Production in high-risk countries is best monitored through independent third-party audits in accordance with human rights and working conditions standards, such as Amfori BSCI or Sedex. Suppliers covered by these monitoring systems are generally assessed to have a low risk level. Another way to minimise risks is through third-party certifications focusing on human rights and sustainable working conditions. Suppliers without certifications and with production in high-risk countries receive follow-up questions, and based on the answers, it is assessed whether the measures are sufficient. Production in low-risk countries is generally assessed as a low risk. Within this focus area, our goal is to risk-assess all of our suppliers in our digital due diligence system. For our Norwegian portfolio, the risk mapping is published openly in accordance with the Norwegian Transparency Act.

We also actively work against corruption and unethical business practices, which hinder fair and sustainable business. These risks are managed through the Amfori BSCI Code of Conduct and relevant certifications, as well as through our own Anti-Corruption Policy, which follows the guidelines of the “Code against Corruption in Business.” All new employees in purchasing and sales sign the policy and receive anti-corruption training. In addition, we carry out thorough supplier checks and monitor all goods purchases to reduce the risk of corruption.
