Pringles

Gerry Gendell and his brand manager tried to come up with a name that would be “alliterative” (comparable to rhyme, where words end with the same sound) with potato chips. They started looking for street names in the phone book that began with P, and Gendall settled on Pringle Drive in Finneytown because he knew someone who lived on the street. They selected several P-names and had their legal department search for previous uses of their alternatives. One name, Perkins, was rejected because of the well-known pancake house with the same name. Pringles was given the green light and history was made!
