For a more sustainable world
SC Johnson strives for a future with less plastic waste and towards a circular economy. At the same time, they also want to find ways to reduce the impact of their operations and use resources responsibly. Here are some highlights from their recent progress:
- 55% of packaging is recyclable, reusable, or compostable.
- Global greenhouse gas emissions have decreased by 66% since 2000.
- More than a third of energy consumption comes from renewable sources.
- 22% of the packaging contains recycled material.

For a healthier world
SC Johnson is one of the leading manufacturers of insecticides, pest control and cleaning products and works continuously to contribute to a stronger and healthier future. This means, among other things, that they work to reduce the spread of mosquito-borne diseases and strengthen knowledge about health around the world.

For a more transparent world
For SC Johnson, safety comes first and the latest science is always guiding the choice of ingredients. All ingredients undergo an assessment of any impact on health and the environment, and are reported openly on the products.

For a world with more opportunities
SC Johnson collaborates with various organisations to support young people, inspire innovation and broaden access to the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) learning tool. The aim is to strengthen the development of local communities.

Human rights
For more than 100 years, SC Johnson has been guided by fundamental principles such as integrity, responsibility and respect. They have a zero-tolerance policy against human trafficking and slavery and a clear position on human rights, both for their own staff and in the supplier chain. SC Johnson’s Supplier Code of Conduct clarifies requirements in four key areas: Human rights and workers’ rights, health, safety and the environment, sustainability and business ethics.
SC Johnson’s suppliers must keep up to date with current best practices and be able to demonstrate the documentation required to demonstrate compliance with the requirements of the Code of Conduct. They must also participate in the audits and inspections requested by SC Johnson and be able to demonstrate compliance with the requirements of the Code of Conduct.
In addition to internal processes and information from suppliers, SC Johnson collaborates with Supplier Ethical Data Exchange (SEDEX) to identify, assess and manage social and ethical risks in the supply chain. The company uses independent, third-party audit firms to perform on-site audits based on the SEDEX Member Ethical Trade Audit’s four-pillar protocol. The SC Johnson Supplier Code of Conduct enables audits to be conducted without prior notice. The company also has an ethics and compliance hotline that is available around the clock. Here, employees can report concerns, problems or suspected violations, even anonymously.
