Climate
As a member of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), Nissin Foods is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions in line with the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C.
In order to achieve its SBTi goals, Nissin Foods has started switching all its production facilities to renewable electricity, increased purchases of raw materials with a lower climate footprint and developed recyclable packaging based on renewable raw materials.
Nissin Foods participates in the international RE100 initiative and aims for all electricity used in its operations to come from renewable energy sources.
They also require suppliers to implement measures to reduce climate impact.

Limited natural resources
All production sites within the Group must have an environmental management system certified in accordance with ISO 14001.
Nissin Foods has established a policy for sustainable procurement with a focus on raw materials with a lower environmental impact and traceability throughout the entire value chain, from raw material to finished product. The policy covers requirements for food safety as well as respect for the environment, human rights and principles of responsible business.
Through its support of the NDPE (No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation) principles, Nissin Foods ensures that all palm oil in its products is RSPO certified, traceable and third-party verified.
Nissin Foods requires suppliers to comply with applicable environmental legislation, relevant agreements and international environmental standards.

Nissin Foods supports the UN Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Global Compact and the International Labour Organisation’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.
They conduct ongoing Human Rights Due Diligence and work with local communities to identify, prevent and manage any negative impacts from operations throughout the value chain.
