We are based on the code of conduct developed by Amfori BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative). This means that we must meet the requirements set by BSCI, but also that the same requirements are applicable to partners and subcontractors. As part of our commitment, we have a responsibility to follow up and ensure compliance with the Code of Conduct. We do this through risk assessments and controls on how our suppliers and partners ensure compliance with the Code. For production in countries with a high risk of poor working conditions and unsustainable environmental practices, audits according to BSCI, Sedex, Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance or other relevant systems are an important tool to ensure compliance with the requirements of our Code of Conduct.
Our Code of Conduct covers Amfori BSCI’s 13 principles, which you can read more about in the link below.
For Arvid Nordquist, responsibility for the environment in the value chain is just as important as consideration for people. We have similar expectations of our partners and their supply chain. That is why we have supplemented our Code of Conduct with clear requirements and guidelines.
We expect and work for open and transparent cooperation. Our partners and their subcontractors must conduct active environmental work that goes beyond statutory requirements and have an environmental management system that meets the requirements of ISO 14001 or an equivalent standard. Our environmental work focuses on the major environmental challenges that characterise our time:
- Reduce greenhouse gas emissions in line with the Paris Agreement.
- Reduce the use of unwanted chemicals
- Preserving biodiversity and reducing deforestation
- Improved soil health
- Limit the use of water resources
- Meet the need for energy-efficient and circular packaging.
- Sustainable waste management
