A unique wooden building
Sustainability and responsibility are fundamental values for us. We are constantly working to reduce the negative impacts of our operations and strive to consider both the planet and people.
Wood is a renewable raw material that binds carbon dioxide, and by using wood in our new roastery and office building, we are significantly reducing carbon dioxide emissions. This natural carbon storage function is maintained when the wood is used in buildings, for example.
Sustainable production
Our new roasting and production facility is something out of the ordinary. The 24-metre-high roasting hall places high technical demands. To meet all requirements, the roof trusses have been specially designed to create a free and flexible floor area while being able to carry the heavy loads of the technical equipment. The frame consists of 70% wood, while the office frame is made of 90% wood. To ensure functionality, we have used innovative solutions from Sweden’s leading experts in wooden constructions. This makes the building an example of sustainable construction.
Environmental certification according to Miljöbyggnad Silver
Our new roastery is certified according to Miljöbyggnad Silver, an environmental certification system for buildings that is reviewed and verified by an independent third party. To achieve this certification, the building must meet stringent requirements for energy management, ventilation, sound environment and sun protection, among other things. The fact that we have chosen this level for our roastery is clear proof of our commitment to sustainability and environmental work.
By creating a modern and pleasant working environment, where the natural properties of the wooden frame contribute to both aesthetics and well-being, we want to inspire more companies and industries to choose sustainable building solutions. The building houses specially designed spaces such as a cupping room, espresso room and flexible collaboration areas – all designed with care for both function and form. Strategic location in northwestern Stockholm
The property is located in Jakobsberg in Järfälla municipality, a stone’s throw from the E18 with good proximity to the logistics centre north of Stockholm.
